Kids Halloween Party
Saturday, October 23rd, 2010What kid doesn’t love Halloween? How about letting them have a little Halloween bash of their own. There are so many fun kinds of foods to make this time of year. The nice thing about Halloween is a lot of it is kid friendly so they can get involved and get their hands dirty. When planning a party for kids the general rule of thumb is to invite the number of kids their age plus one. So if your child is five he can have six friends to their party. Keep the food simple and fun so the kids can be invoved the whole way through.
Mummy Dogs
Ingredients:
- Hot dogs
- Croissant roll package
Directions:
- Halve hot dogs
- Halve croissant rolls
- Leave a thumb length of hot dog and then wrap with ½ croissant roll
- Cut ½ of exposed hot dog for the mummies head
- Bake 10-15 minutes
- Place a little ketchup on mummies head
Spooky Dip
Ingredients:
- Sour cream
- Dip Mix
- 5 Carrots cut in half
- 5 Almond slivers
- Assortment of veggies to dip
Directions:
- Mix sour cream and dip together
- Chill
- Attach almond slivers to ends of carrots with cream cheese to make them look like fingernails
- Before serving place fingers (carrots) into dip bowl so it looks like a hand coming out of bowl
Slimy Treats
Ingredients:
- 2 large jello packages, different colors
- Gummy worms
- Short clear cups (if you can find)
Directions:
- Make first batch of jello according to package
- Place in refrigerator until just starting to thicken then place equal amounts in cups
- Put a gummy worm in each cup
- Let jello in cups set up all the way
- Make second batch of jello
- Once starts to thicken add cups with jello all set up
- Finish by adding a gummy worm and draping over side of cup a little
