Did you know that your local Fire Department offers free, yes free, tours of almost any of their fire stations? What a great resource to be able to take advantage of. Fire station tours are not only fun but also very educational for children and adults. You can usually find the number by looking it up on your cities website. Just call and they will direct you with how to set up the tour.
When looking for decorations for any type of celebration always check your local dollar store first. They have an amazing supply of party goods at a fantastic price. Load up on a few party favors from the dollar store as well. Check with your contact at the fire station because they usually give the kids a little parting gift ranging from fireman hat, stickers, key chains, pencils and a little sweet treat…lots of fun goodies that amount to free party favors.
What fire truck birthday is complete without a fire truck cake? I found an excellent tutorial online about how to make a fire truck cake. Of course the woman in the video was able to put the cake together in six minutes. Speaking from personal experience it took me only about 10 times longer to finish my cake. It was a fun project and one that was adored by all at the party so well worth the time invested.
