Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pie
Monday, July 12th, 2010In honor of Pecan Day that falls on July 12th, I want to share a delicious recipe with you. This is by far the BEST pecan pie I have ever tasted. Pecan Pie was one of my mother’s favorite pies and I personally, never had a real fondness for this particular dessert. Well rewind about four years ago at a family gathering where my uncle presented a piece of art in the form of Pecan Pie and my mind has been forever changed. This is a recipe you have to make for friends and family, because it is that good.
Preheat oven to 350
Ingredients:
3 eggs
3/4 c. light corn syrup
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
2 T. bourbon
1 T. flour
1 t. vanilla extract
1 c. chopped pecans
1 c. semisweet chocolate morsels
1/4 c. plus 2 T butter, melted
1 unbaked pie shell
Directions:
In a large bowl beat eggs until frothy
Thoroughly beat in melted butter
Beat in corn syrup, sugars, bourbon, flour and vanilla
Stir in pecans
Sprinkle chocolate morsels onto pie shell and pour filling over them
Bake until set, about 1 hr
Cool, slice and enjoy a little slice of heaven.
