Baseball Themed Birthday Party
Tuesday, April 20th, 2010Spring is upon us and…so is baseball season!
Know of any baseball fans in your family? Have a themed Baseball Birthday Party in their honor, or just invite friends over to watch the game. It’s a fun and festive way to cheer on your favorite team!

DECORATIONS:
- Since Baseball is the All-American sport using the colors: red, white and blue are a must!
- This is a perfect time to head to your party supply store or fabric store, as many will have items for the 4th of July on sale! Buy items that will go with your theme: blue, red or white cups, stripped plates, just make sure everything is neutral (meaning they don’t have “4th of July” printed on them).
- Have fun with your kids and allow them to make posters or signs, such as creating a “Welcome to the (your last name) Field”
- Have designated areas titled, “First Base” where you have a table where guests get refreshments, “Second Base” another table where guests get snacks, “Third Base” a table where guests get food and “Home Base”where the birthday cake and goodie bags are located.
- Balloons as well as music add a great deal of fun to any party! Make a mix of the most common songs played at baseball parks.
FOOD:
- This is one of my favorite themed parties because the menu is beyond easy! What are the foods served at all baseball stadiums? Hot dogs, burgers and nachos! So simple, stress-free and inexpensive, it’s a great way to feed a large number of guests.
- Snacks are equally as simple: Cracker Jack boxes of caramel popcorn, regular popcorn, cotton candy and peanuts. Fill up festive cups with popcorn by using parchment paper and rolling it into a cone and simply stapling the top.
- Don’t forget to bake baseball cookies or cake! Make sugar cookies (or bake a vanilla cake), spread vanilla frosting and outline the baseball with red frosting (buy red food dye and dip it into some vanilla frosting).
Just have fun, get creative and it’ll be a home run!
