The Art of Fondue Cooking
Thursday, February 11th, 2010One of the most romantic dinners is a dinner you can enjoy with your partner at home. From prepping food, to cooking together to enjoying the finished entree, it’s an experience that’s both fun and romantic.
A great example of a stress-free, but fun dinner is a fondue dinner! Many fancy restaurants have fondue available at a hefty price, but if you invest in a fondue set, you’ll be saving money and enjoying romantic evenings in the comfort of your own home.
Shop online or go to Target or Wal-Mart for an inexpensive fondue set. There are many recipes you can use and the best part is you and your partner can both get food prepared, and cook it yourself. It’s fun and easy!
Try these fondue recipes that never disappoint!

Delightfully-Cheesy Fondue Appetizer
2 cups milk
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons ground dry mustard
1 clove garlic, peeled and crushed
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
6 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
In medium to low heat, mix together milk, Worcestershire sauce, ground dry mustard, garlic and flour. Be sure to heat ingredients until they are almost boiling. Gradually stir in Cheddar cheese. Continue heating until all the cheese has melted. Keep the mixture warm and melted in a fondue dish. Cut up pieces of different types of bread and/or deli meats and enjoy!
Tasty Fondue Seafood Dinner
Use your favorite seafood choices. I suggest:
Shrimp
Scallops
Sword Fish
Salmon
2 cups of peanut oil
Tarter sauce
Shrimp cocktail sauce
Teriyaki sauce
Carefully pour enough cooking oil to fill up to 1/2 or 2/3 of your fondue pot. Add a few pieces of seafood into the pot and cook. Remove items to your plate, let them cool and dip them in sauces. Be sure to make a side salad to also enjoy.
Sinfully-Sweet Chocolate Fondue Dessert
2 cups milk chocolate chips
3 tablespoons heavy cream
2 tablespoons cherry brandy
1 tablespoon strong brewed coffee
1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Combine chocolate, cream, brandy, coffee and cinnamon in a fondue pot over a low flame. Heat until melted, stirring occasionally. Have an arrangement of cut up fruit like strawberries and apples and/or pound cake to dip in chocolate.
Cooking with fondue is fun and great way to enjoy a stress-free dinner! Just make sure to always cook with the best ingredients. Take a look at Celebrity Home Delivery, which offers USDA Prime Beef, Sashimi Grade Seafood, USDA Grade A Poultry and more.
