Cooking with kids: Chocolate-Peanut Butter Bars

Thursday, February 18th, 2010

If you have children, you may often experience how interested they are in helping you cook or bake. Try creating some Chocolate-Peanut Butter bars with them! The best part? There is no baking needed!

Ingridients:
  • 2 cups of confectioners’ sugar
  • 2 cups of  graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 cup of smooth peanut butter
  • 1/2 cups and 2 tbsp of melted  butter
  • 2 cups (12 oz.) milk chocolate or semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted
Directions:
Have fun cooking with your kids! Put the gram crackers in a closed zip-lock bag and let them have fun crumbling the crackers!
  1. Have a 9×13 inch baking pan ready (ungreased!)
  2. Take out a large bowl and mix confectioners’ sugar, graham crackers, peanut butter and butter.
  3. Make sure you blend all ingridents well.
  4.  Scrape baking pan and press into even layer. Spread melted chocolate over top.
  5. Refrigerate at least 2 hours until chocolate is firm.
  6. Let stand 10-20 minutes at room temperature before cutting into bars.
Ta-da a no-bake dessert that’s easy and fun!
